Tips for parents who
want to teach their child English at home.
Learning a second language English alone at school
is not enough. If parents use English in
the home, children are more likely to pick up the language faster and become
more fluent. Here are some tips for
parents to use in the home to help develop your children’s language skills.
1.
Start as early in life as possible.
3.
Use your native language and English together.
4.
Study in a bilingual environment.
5.
Find English learning materials such as videos, books, music.
6.
Help make English fun for your child to learn.
7.
Set a particular time in your day to practice English.
8.
Whatever you do, don’t give up your first language. Your child may feel
uncomfortable learning English and will stop talking altogether.
Try this at home and remember that learning English can be so much
fun and
be beneficial to you too.
